All Cut From The Same Cloth is a collection is inspired by three generations of women connected not only by blood, but by their love of creativity. As a teenager in the 1950s, my grandmother worked as a professional seamstress. Over the years, she passed her skills in sewing and knitting onto her daughters who shared her love for fabrics and fashion. This was also a passion that I would inherit one day as her granddaughter. The concept behind this collection explores female strength and social opinions towards women, particularly in the 1950s. This research has inspired me to create a feminist collection, empowering women and counteracting the social norms that women experienced in that decade. The garments have been designed for longevity and oppose the fast fashion model. The entire collection has been constructed in 100% cotton and printed using eco-friendly dyes. This collection takes inspiration from past generations of women to make a positive impact for future generations.
